Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on C-20 HVAC Qualifier / Responsible Managing Employee (RME) to support commercial HVAC, energy-efficiency, electrification, and infrastructure projects. This position is based out of a Laguna Niguel office and combines CSLB qualifier responsibilities with preconstruction and RFP support, project coordination, field supervision, troubleshooting, commissioning support, and hands-on HVAC work. Key responsibilities include serving as the C-20 qualifying individual, assisting with RFPs and bid opportunities, conducting site walks and HVAC assessments, performing and overseeing commercial HVAC removal and replacement, motor retrofits, tune-ups and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical/electrical/controls/refrigerant issues, supporting heat pump and building electrification projects, and coordinating with electrical, solar, battery storage, and EV charging scopes. Frequent travel throughout California, Nevada, and Oregon is required, with overnight and multi-day stays based on project needs.

Qualifications

  • California C-20 Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning Contractor qualification required, or ability to qualify the company under the C-20 classification
  • Ability to serve as the company's Responsible Managing Employee (RME), subject to CSLB eligibility and approval
  • Located in Orange County or the surrounding area, with the ability to regularly report to the Laguna Niguel office
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout California, Nevada, and Oregon, including overnight and multi-day travel
  • Strong commercial HVAC installation, service, maintenance, retrofit, and troubleshooting experience
  • Working knowledge of packaged rooftop units, split systems, heat pumps, air handlers, condensing units, motors, and controls
  • EPA Section 608 certification preferred or required depending on assigned refrigerant-related responsibilities
  • Experience with estimating, bidding, RFP responses, subcontractor management, and project coordination preferred
